Biography

A distinguished-looking, often bespectacled supporting actor from England, Guy Bellis lent his considerable presence to several well-remembered costume dramas in the 1930s and '40s, appearing as Buckingham in Cardinal Richelieu (1935), as Lord Charles Howard in The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex (1939), and as a host of typically British domestics. Bellis, whose characterizations often went unbilled, continued his screen career well into the 1950s. ~ Hans J. Wollstein, All Movie Guide
