H band can refer to two different regions of the electromagnetic spectrum, in the radio and near-infrared.
The H band is the range of radio frequencies from 6 GHz to 8 GHz in the electromagnetic spectrum. This is equal to wave lengths between 5 cm and 3.75 cm. The H band is in the SHF range of the radio spectrum.
The modern H band lies in the C band (4—8 GHz) of the older IEEE classification system.
In infrared astronomy, the H band refers to an atmospheric transmission window centred on 1.7 microns (in the near-infrared).
