A socio-cultural milieu in a distinct neighbourhood; the dispositions that shape the actions, bodily movements, tastes, and judgements characteristic of a social class, together with the configurations which ensure the reproduction of that class. Habitus is improvisatory, operating through human practices rather than through prior conscious thought. This concept has relevance to gentrification, and particular relevance to actor-network theory and embodied knowledge.

The general, outward physical appearance of a person, especially in the context of a medical examination.
