Mario Marcell Haggan (born March 3, 1980 in Clarksdale, Mississippi) is an American football linebacker who currently plays for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. He was originally drafted in the seventh round (228th overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Mississippi State.
College career
While playing at MSU in 2002, he was the showcase player in ESPN's The Season, an in-depth documentary about various sports teams. He has achieved mediocre success in the NFL seeing playing time mostly as a back-up and special teams player.
He was also accused of trying to break Clinton Hart's ankle during an onside kick versus the Chargers. Hart was carted off the field and was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain. See[[1]] His alleged actions caused Hart to fumble the ball, and the Bills recovered the ball. The Chargers went on to knell the ball and win the game because the ball had been touched by a Bills player before going the required ten yards, so possession was given to San Diego. Haggan's incident caused hostilities between the two teams because of the malicious nature of his intent.
