Biography

The origins of Phoenix, AZ-based band Haggis are delightfully obscure, but they have been building a following in the Phoenix area for years, in part to unpredictable shows like their annual Halloween gig, where they perform at the Bash on Ash as "Draggis." Leader, vocalist, and rhythm guitar player Brian Talenti; bass player Moon; and guitarist Tony Burns met while playing in another local band, with drummer Jack Obregon joining up with the group later. Their music, which mixes a trad rock sound with a punk edge, can be heard on a number of compilations, as well as their albums, which include Six the Hard Way, Piper Down, What's Up Haircut?, and a fan club-only CD entitled The Short Leg. ~ Stacia Proefrock, All Music Guide
