(b Chicago, 10 Sept 1939). American soprano. She sang in early music groups at universities in Chicago and Berkeley, showing distinction in 15th-century music; in Europe she sang widely in Paris, London and the Low Countries, making her operatic début in Brussels as Monteverdi's Drusilla (1979). She made many recordings of Charpentier, Couperin and Handel, with René Jacobs and Emma Kirkby, and recorded Schubert songs with fortepiano. She is noted for her pure-toned, spirited and stylish singing.

Hailey Anne Nelson (born September 14, 1994) is an American child actress.

Biography

Nelson began her career with stage work and short films. At the age of 8, she got her first major film role in the Tim Burton film Big Fish. In 2004, Nelson got her second major role in the film Walk the Line, in which she played the part of Rosanne Cash, one of Johnny Cash's daughters. She also appeared in the 2006 Sundance film, Wild Tigers I Have Known and just finished A Fix where she played the role of Bess.

Personal life

Nelson lives with her family in Memphis, Tn. She loves acting, singing and theater. Aside from her film career she has also been in numerous theater productions such as, Oliver, Ragtime, Annie, Annie Warbucks, Sound of Music, The Man who Came to Dinner, A Christmas Carol and Annie Get Your Gun.
