Plot

The made-for-TV Hallelujah! stars Dennis Haysbert as the newest pastor at an influential Washington, D.C. church. When the reverend offers shelter to a pregnant teenager during the Christmas season, he is frowned upon by his hidebound superiors (could there be something symbolic in this, hmmm?) Figuring into the warm 'n' fuzzy proceedings is a homeless old man (James Earl Jones) and the town's well-meaning mayor (Phylicia Rashad). A note of suspense is introduced when the pastor is given only two days to prove his worthiness for his new post.
