Hambirao Mohite was the brother of Soyarabai, Shivaji's Queen. After Prataprao Guzar He became the SarLashkar i.e commander in chief.
After Shivaji's death he played an important role backing Sambhaji (Shivajis elder son) in his claim to the throne of the Maratha empire, fighting against Aurangzeb.[1] He was the father of Tarabai - the first regent of the Kolhapur kingdom.
Mohite was active Leader and Strong Pillar of Maratha Empire.After his Death ,his Descendant Served Maratha Empire with Dignity.

Hambirrao Mohite played very important role in Sambhaji succession as next chatrapati, there was a dispute take place on Raigad that who is going to be next Raja. Hambirrao mohite was Sarsenapati that time and took initiative to make Sambhaji as Raja. he was sarsenapati when Shivaji Maharaj went for Dakshin Digvijay swari.Queen Tararani was from Mohite's family.
