Hannah Harper (born 4 July 1982 in Devon, England) is an English pornographic actress and director. Her stage name is a combination of the names of two of her friends.[2]
Harper grew up in Brixham, a fishing town in Devon where her parents worked in local holiday camps. She describes herself as a "real goody-goody" at school, and studied Theatre, Media, Dance and Psychology at 'A' level[4] at South Devon College.[1] Her first job was at a local fish and chip shop, then worked in a hotel as a receptionist, barmaid and waitress.[4]
In 2001, Harper started modeling in London[5] at her then-husband's suggestion.[6] She moved to Los Angeles the following year for photo shoots before relocating there. Harper appeared in a few amateur porn videos, her first being with TM Video Productions, before working with Ben Dover in her first professional movie. She signed exclusive contracts with Legend Entertainment and with Sin City Video. She was also involved in the day-to-day operations of the LA Direct Models agency alongside her boyfriend Ben English until they broke up in mid-2004.[7]
Harper has appeared in High Society magazine and Club International magazine several times. In addition, she was the April 2002 Penthouse Pet of the Month, Aziani girl feature, and Hustler's May 2002 covergirl and centerfold.
Harper began working as a feature dancer on the strip club circuit and even got some costumes from Flick Shagwell who had retired dancing. She has mentioned misgivings about the work saying "I knew I couldn't dance... I have no sense of rhythm."[8]
In late-2006, Harper announced that she and Sin City were parting ways and she was looking to shoot more softcore material while pursuing a college degree in psychology.[9] Along this line she portrays Ophelia in the Cinemax series "Co-Ed Confidential," and she played "Christy" alongside Nikki Nova in the Digital Entertainment production "Busty Cops 2." Hannah has recently started work on the Fantasy porn strip World of Whorecraft that has received a certain amount of press coverage
Harper has mentioned that she was married at one time, but has since divorced.[5] During the time she was dating Ben English, Harper was also in a steady relationship with Mary Carey, which English and Carey helped set up.[10]
Her unofficial web site xxxhannahharper.com was operated by her former production company as a part of her original contract, and she no longer has regular interaction with that website.[8][10]
