Biography

A gray-haired, mustachioed, bit-part player from Danzig, Prussia (today Gdansk, Poland), Hans Herbert popped up in several well-remembered Universal horror movies of the 1940s, including Phantom of the Opera (1943) as one of the stagehands, House of Frankenstein (1944) as a Visarian burgher, and The Spider Woman Strikes Back (1946) as an angry German rancher.
