History
The college was founded in 1882 by a group of men and women seeking to establish a Presbyterian college dedicated to high academic and cultural standards.
Campus
The Hastings College campus is situated on 109 acres (0.44 km2). Within that space sits 40 buildings, spanning from the traditional McCormick Hall built in 1883 to the gleaming Osborne Family Sports Complex/Fleharty Educational Center was built in 2002 and the Bronco Village student apartments completed in 2005.
Awards
Hastings College is included in U.S. News & World Report, America's Best Colleges 2007 and was named a 2007 "'Best College in the Midwestern Region" by Princeton Review. HC was also listed by Kaplan/Newsweek as one of "America's 369 Most Interesting Schools" and recognized as the top liberal arts college in Nebraska by The Washington Monthly magazine.Hastings boasts a well known music department known for its ensembles including a Concert Band Ensemble, Hastings College Choir, Music Theatre Ensemble and others.
