The University of Hawaiʻi Warriors, University of Hawaiʻi Rainbow Warriors, or University of Hawaiʻi Rainbows are the team names of the men's sports programs at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
Prior to the year 2000, the University of Hawaiʻi's men's teams were all referred to as the Rainbow Warriors, complemented by an athletics logo featuring a rainbow. However, in a controversial marketing strategy over which many at the University and throughout Hawaii have misgivings[1], the school changed its athletics logo to a stylized "H" and allowed each team to pick its own team name. This has led to the current situation, where three teams have retained the team name of "Rainbow Warriors," (basketball,swimming & diving and tennis) one team adopted the name "Rainbows', (baseball) and three teams have adopted the name "Warriors", (football, golf and volleyball).

Football
The Hawaiʻi Warriors football team represents the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in NCAA Division I FBS college football. The team, which is currently coached by Greg McMackin, is part of the Western Athletic Conference. They are the third non-BCS team to play in a BCS bowl game, having faced Georgia in the Sugar Bowl on January 1, 2008.
Basketball
The Hawaiʻi Rainbow Warriors basketball team had an overall record of 11-19 (7-9 in conference) in 2007. In the 2008-2009 season, the Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors Basketball team had an overall record of 13-17 (5-10 in conference). The Rainbow Warriors will face both New Mexico State and Brigham Young University(BYU) during the 2009-2010 season. The Warriors will participate in the 46th annual Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic, as well as the first annual ESPN Diamond Head Classic which will take place during the Christmas Holiday. For the second straight year, the University of Nevada, Reno will host the Western Athletic Conference Tournament in Reno, Nevada. Then, the event will be moved to Las Vegas, Nevada for the 2011-2012 season. Bob Nash, who is moving in on his third season as Head Coach, has signed 5 new transfers. These transfers include Douglas Kurtz, a 7-0, 265 pound Center, from Pelotas, Brazil; Zane Jhonson, a 6-5, 205 pound Guard, from Phoenix, Arizona; Jeremy Lay, a 6-0, 185 pound Guard, from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Aleksandar Milovic, a 6-7, 220 pound Forward, from Cetinje, Montenegro; and Dwain Williams, a 6-0, 175 pound Guard, from San Diego, California.
