Heart Digital

Heart Digital is a digital radio network of stations that broadcast on DAB Digital Radio in the North East of England (on the MXR North East multiplex), the North West of England (MXR North West), Yorkshire (MXR Yorkshire), South Wales and the West of England (MXR Severn Estuary) and in Central Scotland (Switch Scotland).

Background

The stations specialise in "Adult contemporary music". The station's breakfast show is an edited version of Heart 106.2's breakfast show with Jamie Theakston and Harriet Scott, which is broadcast with an hour's delay. Other presenters include Paul Hollins and Steve Denyer.

In November, the station, as well as the other Heart stations across the country, began to appear on the EPG of Freeview. It is yet to begin full broadcasting on this medium.

Chrysalis Radio Sold

On the 25th June 2007 it was announced that Heart along with its sister stations The Arrow, Sky News Radio, LBC and Galaxy were to be sold for £170 million to Global Radio UK from Chrysalis Radio.[1]
