Hellē

Hellē in Greek myth, sister of Phrixus. While she and her brother were flying through the air on the back of the ram with the golden fleece to escape from their father Athamas and step-mother Ino, Helle fell off into the sea and drowned. In consequence the sea was called the Hellespont, ‘sea of Helle’.
