Plot

The great nuclear holocaust has come and gone, and humanity is hanging on a string. Women rule what's left, and the world is filled with giant mutant humanoid frogs who have started their own communities. Fertile human males have become one of the rarest things on Earth. This really low-budget sci-fi adventure chronicles the exploits of one of those men, the wandering loner Sam Hell (as played by former wrestler Rowdy Roddy Piper). The tale begins as Hell is caught and tried for raping a woman. Realizing that he is fertile, Medtech, the organization devoted to repopulating the world, takes him and forces him to wear high-tech underwear designed to control his lusty tendencies and to keep him from squandering his seed on infertile ladies. The organization then forces him to go deep into froggy territory to bring back the fertile women stolen by the amphibian's leader. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

Plot

This film is set in an post-apocalyptic wasteland where few fertile men and women exist due to atomic fallout and, as a result, the government places a high priority on those that can still breed. Shortly before the movie opens, a group of mutant amphibians (who have been exiled to the desert by the humans who still look normal) have captured a group of fertile women and are using them as sex slaves. Sam Hell (Piper) is recruited by the government to go recapture the women, then reproduce with them and save the human race. To make sure that the strong headed Hell follows the order of his commander, he is forced to wear a protective codpiece that will explode if he disobeys an order or tries to abort his mission.

The most notable scene in the movie is the notorious "Dance of the Three Snakes" sequence by Sandahl Bergman.

Sequels

Despite its critically poor reception, Hell Comes To Frogtown spawned three sequels: Return to Frogtown (1993), Toad Warrior (1996), and Max Hell Frog Warrior (2002).[2]

Cultural references

The title inspired the animated television series Family Guy episode title "Hell Comes to Quahog".[3]
