Biography

Barely heard of at the time, Helter Skelter have since come to considerable cult fame as one of the semi-legendary Jesse Hector's ports of call, midway between his stints with Crushed Butler and the Hammersmith Gorillas. A trio that also featured Butler/Gorillas bandmate Alan Butler, Helter Skelter never escaped the demo studio during their 1973-1974 lifetime. However, two of these formative tracks, "I Need You" and "Goodbye Baby," emerged as a 45 in 1977, in the wake of the Hammersmith Gorillas' emergence. ~ Dave Thompson, All Music Guide
