Hemianopsia

Hemianopsia is the loss of half of a field of vision. When the pathology involves both eyes, the following specific terms are used:

• Heteronymous hemianopsia - A loss of different visual field halves.
  • Binasal hemianopsia - The loss of the fields surrounding the nose
  • Bitemporal hemianopsia - The loss of the fields closet to the temples
• Homonymous hemianopsia - A loss of the same visual field halves.
