Henriette d'Angleterre (1644-70). Daughter of Charles I of England and Henrietta Maria, unhappily married to Philippe, duc d'Orléans, the brother of Louis XIV. Her death was the subject of a famous funeral oration by Bossuet, of which posterity has remembered the words: ‘Madame se meurt, Madame est morte!’ Her life was written by her friend Madame de Lafayette.
