Music Encyclopedia: Henry Abyndon

(b c1420; d 1497). English musician. He was a singer at Eton College and the Chapel Royal, where he was Master of the Choristers (1455-78); he also had connections with Wells Cathedral. No compositions are known, but he is thought to be the first person to have taken a music degree (MusB, Cambridge, 1464).
