Biography
Makeup artist Herman Buchman spent most of his career involved with the theater and the New York City Opera, where he served as the director of makeup for many years, but he also occasionally worked on feature films and in television. Buchman started out teaching theater arts at the Purchase campus of the State University of New York. He also taught makeup techniques at Juilliard and at the first Theater Wing. In 1957, he worked on the film Twelve Angry Men. Buchman penned two books about his craft. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
