Hexham is a railway station on the Main North railway line, (which CityRail markets as the Hunter Line), in the western suburbs of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. Hexham is mainly a commercial and industrial area located north of the station. A large swamp is located to the south. It originally had a substantial brick platform building, however this was demolished in the 1990s and replaced with a lightweight bus-shelter type structure. Also the station has a full length island platform however this was fenced off to a shorter 4 train-car length, also in the 1990s. Four tracks pass through Hexham- the 'Up and Down' Main lines, and the 'Up and Down Coal Lines', although there are only platform faces on the Main lines.

Platforms/Service

The station is served by approximately one train per hour on weekday off-peak and weekends, with additional services in peak hours. Limited stop services and services to Dungog or Scone do not stop at Hexham, apart from one early-morning service to Scone on weekends.
