A hibernoma (also known as a "Fetal lipoma,"[1] "Lipoma of embryonic fat,"[1] and "Lipoma of immature adipose tissue"[1]) is a benign tumour of brown fat, i.e. adipose tissue (fat), and thus a type of lipoma.[1]

Histology

It is composed of finely vacuolated fat cells, with a central nucleus and eosinophilic cytoplasm.[2]

Treatment

Surgical excision.
