Isaac Jason "Ike" Hilliard (born April 5, 1976 in Patterson, Louisiana) is a retired American football wide receiver. He was drafted by the New York Giants seventh overall in the 1997 NFL Draft. He played college football at Florida.

Hilliard has also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

College career

Hilliard played his college football for the Florida Gators. In his junior year in 1996 he made the College Football All-America Team as Florida won their first National Championship under Steve Spurrier. The Gators finished the season with a record of 12-1 after a victory in the Sugar Bowl over the Florida State Seminoles. He finished his career at Florida with 126 receptions for 2,214 yards and 26 touchdowns. [1]

Professional career

New York Giants

Hilliard was drafted by the New York Giants seventh overall in the 1997 NFL Draft. He spent his first eight seasons with the Giants as a starter, helping the team reach Super Bowl XXXV. He finished his career with the Giants with 368 receptions for 4,630 yards and 27 touchdowns.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

He signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after the 2004 season. During his first two seasons with Tampa he was used mainly as a third or fourth receiver, but in 2007 he started 10 games making 62 receptions for 722 yards.

Hilliard was released by the Buccaneers on February 25, 2009.[2]

Post NFL Career

Forced to retire after a neck injury, Hilliard became a receivers coach for the UFL's Florida Tuskers in 2009.

He is the nephew of former New Orleans Saints running back Dalton Hilliard.
