Hip Hop Jazz: Acid Metropolis collects 13 acid-jazz, jazz-rap and jazzy dance-club tracks. Much of the album contains cuts by unknowns or obscure artists, and while those don't quite match the heavy-hitters featured here -- including Gang starr, Brand New Heavies, Ronny Jordan and Groove Collective -- the collection is nevertheless quite enjoyable and it reveals some fine overlooked gems. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
