Collard, Hippolyte Auguste (fl. 1840-87), French commercial photographer. Known mainly for his topographical and documentary photographs in and around Paris, Collard exhibited at the 1855 Paris Exposition Universelle, winning several awards for his photographs on paper. In addition to selling genre scenes, he photographed works of art, city views, and newsworthy sights like the street barricades of the Paris Commune. He also sold photographic materials through his Paris-based company Collard & Cie.
