  • Genre: History
  • Movie Type: World History, Social History
  • Run Time: 50 minutes

Plot

This program is part of the popular series from the History Channel that investigates some of civilization's unsolved mysteries and controversies. This episode investigates the mysterious disappearance of the Anasazi. The Anasazi were the ancestors of modern-day Pueblo peoples of the American Southwest. The Anasazi civilization culminated with the cliff dwellings they built into the rocks during their last 100 years in the region. Cliff Palace, in what is now in Mesa Verde National Park, is the most famous of their homes. Then, in the 13th century, the Anasazi disappeared, leaving their cliff dwellings dotting the landscape like question marks. This program investigates the culture of the Anasazi, and the theories about their disappearance. Film clips, photographs, visits to archeological sites, and interviews with experts present the story of the Anasazi. ~ Rose of Sharon Winter, All Movie Guide
