HIV periodontitis

HIVP

An aggressive form of periodontal disease with all of the characteristics of HIV-G combined with soft tissue ulceration and necrosis and rapid destruction of the periodontium and bone. The condition is very painful. HIV-P may resemble acute necrotiz-ing ulcerative gingivitis (ANUG). However, ANUG is limited to the soft tissue, whereas HIV-P disease extends into the crestal bone.
