Music Encyclopedia:

Hoch Conservatory

Frankfurt conservatory established in 1878, endowed by a bequest by J. Hoch. Its staff, which included Clara Schumann, Julius Stockhausen and Humperdinck, quickly gained it an international reputation. In 1937 it divided into a Staatliche Hochschule and a conservatory for amateurs.
