(1861–1948)
London-born English architect. His work was often in a refined Wrenaissance manner, e.g. Lloyd's Bank, Rosslyn Hill, London (1891), and the offices for the North Eastern Railway Company, York (1904). With Bunney, he compiled English Domestic Architecture of the XVIIth and XVIIIth Centuries (1905, 1928). With Charles Evelyn Simmons (1879–1952) he designed houses at Letchworth Garden City, Herts., and Hampstead Garden Suburb, as well as churches at Eastriggs and Gretna in Scotland.
