Celtic Mythology: horned god

Depictions of early Celtic deities bearing horns are usually thought to be Cernunnos when no other name is given; at some sites, however, Gaulish Mercury and Silvanus as well as Cocidius are represented with horns. The Irish heroes Feradach Fechtnach and Furbaide Ferbend bear horns, as does the monstrous creature from the Scottish Gaelic folklore, beannach-nimhe [horned poison].
