Review

Just the thing to keep listeners up late at night! This collection of re-recorded horror film themes and cues is heavy on the brassy melodramatics, with the odd tendency to burst into emphatic fanfares at the drop of a hat (as happens throughout the "Overture" from Horrors of the Black Museum.) As always, it's a pleasure to see some of this music being dusted off and given the Philharmonic treatment. Some of the music here comes from movies refulgent in their awfulness, but the cues are always worth hearing, especially when delivered with this sort of vigor. ~ Steven McDonald, All Music Guide
