Horsell Common SSSI is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in Surrey, England.[1]. It is 355 hectares (880 acres) [2] and lies near Horsell, an ancient village nearby to the more modern Woking. It includes a Muslim Burial Ground and a number of Bronze Age barrows.
Horsell Common was chosen by H.G. Wells as the site of the first Martian landing in The War of the Worlds, (specifically the sand pits at the location).
