Hounslow Manor School is a secondary & 6th form school located in the London Borough of Hounslow. It is located just behind Hounslow High Street. It has around 950 students. Hounslow Manor is a thriving 11-18 age community school of 950 pupils with over 100 students in the 6th Form, under-subscribed in all year groups, with a reputation as being a small school with a strong vision and sense of purpose.
Hounslow Manor is the most central of the Authority's secondary schools, occupying a large site just off the High Street. The school is also a Community Education Centre, with a flourishing adult education programme three evenings a week and at the weekends, extensive use of our superb Sports Hall seven days a week and strong links with the adjacent Youth Centre. There is a well-subscribed Community Language School which runs every Saturday morning.
Transport communications are excellent, with bus and underground stations within a few minutes walk, and British Rail a little further away. We are very proud of the care that we all take of our learning environment and have three years running been awarded a Gold Litter Free School Award.
GCSE results in 2000 were excellent. In fact, it achieved one of the best results in the whole borough. The school is an investor in people. The school promotes a positive ethos and culture in which teaching and learning can thrive and flourish ensuring intellectual, moral and spiritual growth.
Staff and pupils work together to create a friendly and supportive atmosphere within the cosmopolitan community that is "Hounslow Manor." Pupils are encouraged to respect each other and to be sensitive to the values and needs of others."
The school has been described as a platform to success, by former students. Besides, the school also does some social work like raising funds for Third World children. It also raised funds for the Comic Relief.
