Plot

Based on the Dreamcast game of the same name, Hourglass of Summer Colors is about a boy named Makimura Koutarou who has decided that during his summer vacation, he will explain his romantic feelings to his beautiful classmate Serizawa Kaho. The night before his planned confession, however, he has a run-in with Ligene, a time patroller from the future, and the natural timeline for Makimura and Serizawa is upset. When he wakes up the next morning, it is suddenly September 1st and, more shockingly, he finds that he and Serizawa have been a couple all summer but she has just died tragically in an accident the previous day. Now Makimura is on a mission, traveling back with Ligene to his own time to set things right and prevent the death of the girl he loves. ~ Cammila Albertson, All Movie Guide
