House of Gradi
The House of Gradi (or Gradić) was one of the oldest (from the 12th century) and one of the most recognized among the patrician families in the Republic of Ragusa. Many of its members were dukes (duca) of the Republic. The Austrian Empire recognized its long-standing nobility in 1 December 1817 after the fall of the Republic of Ragusa.
Famous members:
- Nikolaus Matthäus Nobile de Gradi, married with 19.6.1774 Theresia Nobile de Zamagna. The same received 1.12.1817 one k.k. Aristocracy recognition your nobility, and left two sons
- Sebastian Maria Josef Domenikus Franz Nikolaus Matthäus, born 15 July 1777
- Matthäus, born 22 August 1786, which must probably have died before their father.
- Stefano Gradi,(1613-1683) - philosopher and scientist.
- Giovanna Gradi, mother of Ivan Gundulić (Giovanni Gondola)
