Formed in 2006 by longtime friends Henrik Lundberg and Mattias Wellhag, Swedish heavy metal outfit House of Heavy craft blistering, melodic arena rock that echoes the late-'80s output of classic metal acts like Megadeth, Dio, and Judas Priest. The duo began collaborating after spending years in and out of other bands. Two years of living-room rehearsals, home-recorded demos, and late nights spent just listening to music eventually landed the pair a digital distribution deal with Metal Blade and an international deal with Spiritual Beast Records, resulting in House of Heavy's full-length debut, Pure, in 2009. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
