Hoyle Casino [1998]

Games: Hoyle Casino [1998]

Game Description

Calling all gamblers to the 1998 version of Hoyle Casino, an upgrade of the original Sierra program. In addition to multiplayer support, the game offers eight gambling venues, over 100 variations, tournament play, and a comprehensive strategy guide. The package contains the following games (with variations in parentheses): Slots (60), Video Poker (44), Blackjack (20), Casino Poker (7), Craps (5), Keno (4), Pai Gow Poker (2) and Roulette.

Internet support for multiplayer action can be found at the World Opponent Network www.won.net for Craps, Poker and Blackjack. The game also features ten animated computer characters, with individual personalities as well as strengths and weaknesses for the various games, and an option to turn off the small talk if desired. Each game comes with a built-in tutorial and the manual includes strategies which can be used by novices to learn the games or by experts for tips. A practice mode and an online real-time hint facility is also provided.

Users can play against the computer-controlled opponents via tournament setup or play up to three other players on the same PC. Official rules for each game are included in the manual along with an extensive glossary of gambling terms. Whether you're looking for betting strategies for the Omaha Hold'em High-Low poker variation, card counting techniques or just want to rub elbows with fellow gamblers live over the Internet, Hoyle Casino provides the wherewithal to do just that.

Roots & Influences

Hoyle Casino '99, by Sierra Attractions, is a direct upgrade of their earlier gambling game, Hoyle Casino. This is one of dozens of gambling games to be released in the computer gaming industry that replicate real gambling games without the risk of betting or losing actual money.
