hyposensitization hy'po·sen'si·ti·za'tion (-tĭ-zā'shən) n.To make less sensitive, as to an allergen.
Decreasing the hypersensitivity response to allergens by exposure, usually as intradermal injections, to minute but increasing doses of the allergens. A treatment modality for atopic dermatitis, most commonly in dogs, cats and horses. Called also desensitization. See also immunotherapy.
