Plot
Bad taste slasher-movies never had it so good. In this horror/comedy movie, the film's hero purchases an antique motorcycle. Somehow, the bike gets a taste for blood, and behaves in every respect just like a traditional vampire (shunning crucifixes, etc.). It also has a taste for human and animal flesh, and is given to dismembering its victims. ~ Clarke Fountain, All Movie Guide
I Bought a Vampire Motorcycle is a 1990 low-budget horrorspoof about a motorcycle possessed by an evil spirit.
Set in a Birmingham, England suburb, the film is about a man named Noddy and his girlfriend Kim who operate a motorcycle courier business. One day Noddy bought a classic motorbike, a 750cc Norton Commando, and restored it. That motorbike, however, is possessed by the evil spirit of a man who was being summoned by an occultist who was killed by a motorbike gang. Whenever the spirit is overcome by a seeming blood lust, the bike would start up, ride on its own and kill people, particularly members of the Hells Angels[1].
Michael Elphick plays Inspector Cleaver and Anthony Daniels plays the eccentric priest who attempts to exorcise the bike’s evil spirit. [2]
A motorbike gang kills an occultist. An evil spirit inhabits a damaged bike. The vehicle becomes a bloodthirsty monster that exacts revenge on the gang that killed the man.
The White Swan pub in Henley-in-Arden provided accommodation and catering for the film and was, at the time, owned and run by Michael Elphick. [3]
The location used for Noddy and Kim's house had been used in the third TV Series of Boon for the offices of "Texas Rangers". [4]
The vampire motorcycle is a 750cc Norton Commando. [4]
