Like most dance singles, this double A-side EP comes out a bit late after being already played out in the clubs. Luckily, the songs don't get old nearly as fast as so many of its transitory peers. With a more prominent slot by vocalist Jina, "I Can Hear Voices" slithers along to a wobbly, casual beat that might disorient those familiar with the hard house passion of "Pitchin'." Whether this is a good thing or not is up to the open-mindedness of dance fans. In any case, if it's a bit too populist for the band's apparent gifts, the flip side's "Caned and Unable" should make worriers happier. A hard track, it sprinkles chimes, pseudo-Eastern keyboards, and an undulating low frequency that gets your bottom end going in no time. A fine, more Ibiza-friendly sophomore effort indeed. While it can't match the volatile power of Hi-Gate's "Pitchin'" debut, both songs do quite well handling themselves. These exploratory roots sound mighty long-lasting indeed. ~ Dean Carlson, All Music Guide
