["I'll sail this day to higher land","I don't know too much but I know what I want to say","And when the sun is high, and I'll let my music say","This fear will always get in your way","It finds me deep in love and deeper down the lane","And I can hear so much","Please leave me when you see me fall","But don't let this ever get in your way","I Just Need Myself","That I miss it everyday","And I can hear so much","I Just Need Myself","","I don't know too much but I know what I want to say","","That I miss it everyday","","And from the top of it you can nearly see your face","These things will never get in your way","","I'll die before I get to sleep","I don't know too much but I know what I want to say","I Just Need Myself","I'm cold and soaking wet when daylight shows its face","That I miss it everyday","And I can hear so much","When screaming shadows haunt my dreams","It finds me deep in love and deeper down the lane","I'm not going to walk on sinking sand","It finds me deep in love and deeper down the lane","","Oh please I have to climb that wall"]

The song was released in 2003 and reached number 13 in the UK Singles Chart, making it the highest charting Ocean Colour Scene song since "Profit in Peace" from 1999. It was released as the lead single from their 2003 album North Atlantic Drift.
A remix of the song is a B-side to the 2007 single, "I Told You So".
The song was originally going to be a blues-style song, but guitarist Steve Cradock came up with the opening riff and decided to use that instead. Lead singer Simon Fowler says the lyrics are about the first things you think about when your head hits the pillow.
