["I'm coming straight for your heart","","You can't imagine what your image means","I guess I'll never learn","That meant a lot to me","Your magic greeting everyone who reads","Her eyes don't follow me","Are you for real? It's so hard to tell","As fine as you are","Heartbreak in motor drive","Yeah, you just smile and the picture sells","I'll wait till your love comes down","And while she watches I can never be free","","","From just a magazine","No way you can stop me now","From just a magazine","","The pages come alive","I'm coming straight for your heart","Yeah, you just smile and the picture sells","Look what that does to me","As fine as you are","As fine as you are","I never sent it, she wouldn't have heard","Are you for real? It's so hard to tell","","No way you can stop me now","","I'll wait till your love comes down","I'm coming straight for your heart","You've got me captured, I'm under your spell","I'll wait till your love comes down","No way you can stop me now","Such good photography","Another page is turned","I'll wait till your love comes down","I'm coming straight for your heart","Look what that does to me","No way you can stop me now","I wrote a letter and told her these words","As fine as you are","","","I have your picture, yes I know it well"]

"I'll Wait" is a song by Van Halen that appears on their album 1984. It was the second single released from the album and reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. Like Jump (Van Halen song), this song features keyboards almost entirely, and includes a synthesizer bass line. The song's sound has similarities with that of 1980s pop group Genesis. David Lee Roth and producer Ted Templeman wanted to remove the song from the album, while Edward Van Halen and Donn Landee wanted, and pushed for, its inclusion. The song was written as a collaboration between Van Halen and Doobie Brothers singer Michael McDonald.
The song's subject is a woman wearing men's underwear in a Calvin Klein print media advertisement. Roth wrote the lyrics while the advertisement was tacked onto his Sony Trinitron television.[1]
