"I love You" is the second episode of the the CBS sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond. It was the 2nd episode of the 1st season. The episode was directed by Paul Lazarus and written by Philip Rosenthal.
Plot
The episode begins with Ray interviewing Tommy Lasorda over the phone. When Ally takes a cookie he shouts out “Where are you going with that cookie?” which scares Tommy Lasorda because he was eating a cookie.
Ray and Debra go out to Nemo's Pizza with friends Bernie and Linda. When Bernie and Linda start to kiss it makes Debra starts to believe that Ray isn’t as affectionate with her when she tries to kiss to him. That night, Debra talks to Ray about how loving Bernie and Linda were with each other and how Ray doesn’t say "I love you" to her anymore. Ray tells her it was the way he was brought up and that his parents weren’t as caring to each other.
The next day, while Frank fixes the shower Ray talks to Frank and Marie about the how he was a kid that they weren’t very loving. After the argument Frank and Marie start to show their affection to Ray, Debra and the kid’s which starts to freak out Ray and Debra. They tell Frank and Marie to go back to normal.
Before Ray leaves on a road trip with the New York Mets, he tells Debra he loves her which makes Debra laugh at him for being so serious when he said it. While Ray is on his road trip he says on the phone that he loves you presumably to Debra but it turns out to be one of the kids.
