Game Description
I-Xera is a side-scrolling adventure with puzzles to solve, enemies to shoot, and items to collect. Assuming the role of a futuristic spacesuit-clad hero, you'll have to maneuver through maze-like corridors that feature various tubes, electric doors and a futuristic ambiance.Armed with a laser blaster, the hero will also have to kill various enemies including bubbles and glimmering stars. Health is based on a battery meter. When the hero receives damage from enemies, this meter drops a little. When the meter has been drained, the game is over. While the laser is useful in eradicating the enemies, it can overheat. The laser's temperature is also represented via meter -- when it overheats, the weapon will not fire until it cools down.
Electric doors will block corridors from time to time. When a locked door is blocking the path, you'll have to seek out a switch to deactivate it. There are items located throughout the futuristic base including batteries, various tools, and backpacks. While batteries fill the health meter, one must solve a puzzle before receiving the much-needed power.
I-Xera continues until the hero's batteries have been depleted or the entire base has been cleared. While points aren't shown on the actual game screen, you'll receive a points total at the end of the game. If this total beats the previous high score, the new score will take its place. ~ Matthew House, All Game Guide
