Icho-Kalakal

(Oceanian mythology)

A semi-legendary chief. According to the Caroline islanders, Icho-Kalakal was the leader of a great invasion from the south, presumably Melanesia. Whether or not he was daunted by the massive stone fortifications on some of the islands we do not know. These gigantic enclosures were the handiwork of the divine twins Olo-sipa and Olo-sopa.
