Responsible for about a third of the world's supply of the stuff, ICL Industrial Products is the #1 bromine producer globally. The company (also called ICL-IP) also manufactures magnesia and chlorine using brines extracted from the Dead Sea. The bromine compounds are used in flame retardants, agrochemicals, and pharmaceuticals. Other sectors targeted by the company include the oil drilling, plastics and polymers processing, water treatment, and photography markets. ICL-IP, one of the four operating segments of Israel Chemicals (known as the ICL Group), markets its products worldwide through business partners and a sales network.
