Ikere-Ekiti, also known as Ikere or Ikerre, is a city in Ekiti State of Nigeria. It is an agricultural centre. According to the 1991 census, the population was 59,257 [1] but more current estimates put it at more than 100,000. [2] [3]

Ikere is a town endowed with magnificent hills, including Orole and Olosunta. The town is located between Ado-Ekiti (the capital of Ekiti State) and Ikogosi, a resort town notable for its dual cold and warm water springs.

The traditional head and ruler of Ikere goes by the title of Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti, and the current holder is Oba Adegboye Akaiyejo.

Ikere is home to the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti.
