The services this department offers silver-aged Illinoisans are golden. Illinois' Department of Aging provides comprehensive in-home and community-based elder services, including case management, adult day care, and emergency home response. It also investigates reports of abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation of seniors; provides property tax relief for low-income elders; administers the Illinois Cares RX Program which helps participants pay for prescriptions; and offers transportation, delivered meals, and legal assistance. Additionally it provides aging Illinoisans subsidized part-time employment services and seminars, educational workshops, and conferences. Its annual budget is more than $620 million.
