Review

In a Moment of Complete Madness is a compilation of sorts. Galahad originally released the album as a self-produced cassette to be sold at the band's shows. The orders for it grew so much that it was eventually released on CD with a few bonuses. However, since the album was essentially a homemade release of a band in its formative stages, problems can be expected. One of the most obvious problems that might be anticipated would be the sound quality, but that does not really surface here. However, the recordings do show a band that is inexperienced and looking for its identity. That is not necessarily a bad thing, though. The overall texture of the disc is progressive rock, with leanings ranging from Yes and Genesis to Marillion and Fish. Still, the band's greenness tends to leave a lot of the material feeling weak. This one is probably best for longtime fans of the band. It is not bad, but rather simply not strong enough to win over new fans for Galahad. It was never really intended to be, either. ~ Gary Hill, All Music Guide
