The average female is five feet, 3.75 inches (1.62 meters) tall and weighs 152 pounds (69.09 kilograms). The average male is five feet, nine inches (1.75 meters) tall and weighs 180 pounds (81.82 kilograms). Between 1960 and 2000 the average American male became two inches (five centimeters) taller and 45 pounds (20.45 kilograms) heavier, while the average American woman also grew two inches (five centimeters) taller and gained 18 pounds (8.18 kilogram).
